Mr. Michael Vavrica is the Resident Engineer for the $9.5B New Terminal One Project at JFK Airport, where he has spent his 11-year career with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, rising from intern to lead engineer. Known as the go-to problem solver at JFK, Michael has managed complex, high-stakes projects including runway reconstructions, substation construction, and emergency repairs, often responding during nights, weekends, and holidays. His leadership, dedication, and deep knowledge of JFK operations have made him a critical asset to the Port Authority, inspiring colleagues and mentoring future engineers. Michael's proactive and collaborative approach has ensured on-time delivery of key infrastructure, such as the AirTrain permit coordination through the New Terminal One site.
