Glenn Murrell, P.E.

Glenn Murrell, P.E. is the Deputy Regional Director of NYSDOT Region 10, overseeing Planning and Construction and managing a $1B+ five-year capital plan. Key projects include Route 347, Nassau Expressway, Walt Whitman Rd Bridge, and paving on the Northern/Southern Parkways and the LIE. He directs project scoping, multimodal systems, and local program oversight, and serves as Incident Commander for emergency events.
Previously, Glenn was the Regional Planning and Program Manager for 13 years, serving as Secretary of the Nassau/Suffolk TCC and Statewide Agency Rep for the REDC. Before 2010, he was a Highway Design Supervisor. A Polytechnic Institute graduate (BS/MS, 1985), he began his career at the Port Authority, later working in consulting. Glenn has been an ASCE member since 1984 and received the LI Branch Public Sector Spotlight in 2020.
